How is that a bargain? Its nearly always that price or thereabouts? 5 litres worth of cans would come to similar money and isnt half as dishwater tasting. Those minikegs really are a poor substitution for a slab of cans or a proper pint.

You could actually get roughly 12 cans at that price:

    12 X 500ml = 6 litres! ;)

Was tempted to buy the keg... as the tap looked nifty!

Make sure the keg is in the fridge for at least 24 hours before opening
    - no foam guaranteed!

Yeah, it says 10hrs on the keg, I think the bubbles get finer or something after a long time. I was trying one last night at room temp and it was all foam, it was good for topping up cans, and glasses that cans were in, just pump a nice head onto a half full glass.

    It is expensive though.

Anyone seen any other good offers for the weekend...? Tesco was bone dry apart from that keg!

I would say they are holding back for the electric picnic shoppers next week.

Tesco are offering 20% back in clubcard vouchers on purchases of beer and cider this weekend.
And they have a coupon for double clubcard points in their 'Get Active' booklet envelopes in-store.

Cans of Heineken are gone really, really bad in the past year or more, very hit and miss. Mostly they're flat as a nun's t1t.
I've stopped buying them, apart from the 5% that Dunnes usually have, which are fine.

I'd agree with Dr Nick completely!

I find the cans are either (as Dr Nick so eloquently put it) "flat as a nun's tit!" or the ones i've been buying in Dunnes recently have often been suffering from the always-dreaded-strong metallic after-taste.

Got two of the kegs yesterday, way nicer than the cans after a few hours in the fridge.

Maybe those of you that are getting foam will learn to appreciate the barmans's art.

but a keg is so much cooler:P

Especially when it has been in the fridge for a couple of hours. :D

I'm going to buy the keg tomorrow if I can get it. I know the cans are cheaper but approx. 9 pints for €20 isn't too bad.
