Company gone bust, but paid with c/c

A colleague has bought a piece of computer equipment through Bye4now to a company in Kildare who debited his card (about €350) but were never contactable and buy4now claim this company has gone into liquidation. Anything that can be done to recoup the money? He rang Consumer Affairs who were worse than useless...
