Green book of fixtures

A few people have mentioned to me about a green book which gives all the fixtures for opens and what not during the season. Obviously it's probably too late this season to pick one up, but i was wondering how you go about getting one when they come out? Does it come from the GUI or are they on sale in newsagents.

Thanks in advance for any help.

you don't need it. All the open fixtures are on the www gui ie website.

Ah, the book is probably handier. The GUI site gives basic details such as eg. 20/6 - 27/6 Open Week Kileen, whereas the book gives exact details of each days competition.

It is available from all clubs from around the start of April, most golf shops stock it too and I think it costs a tenner.

Thanks for that Andy, that's a big help. Yeh, the GUI website is ok, but very limited details.

    Thanks!

As above Graeme, you can get them in most pro shops or clubs.

Our club put all the open fixtures for Leinster into the back of our club diary this year, great idea if you ask me.Maybe you could suggest it to your committee before it goes to print?

Cheers John, i'll need to mention that. Sounds like a good idea! I'm determined to play quite a few opens next season.

    graeme,

Thanks Mark, i had a funny feeling that i had seen it up there, but could see it on Sunday when i was up. It's probably not worth my while buying it for this year anyway, but i'll need to keep an eye out for it next season. Until then the GUI site will do fine!

    Cheers for the help lads.

Just to point out, I noticed they have em in Naas GC this morning anyway, although like ya said, not much point @ this stage of the year...

Incidentally, what a cracking little course Naas has turned out to be. First time I played it since it was done up. Really enjoyed it...

Now, just gonna watch some TV and head off to play Millicent later! :p

    Hard oul life ;)
