    Get it off amazon.
If you cant do that try the bookshop in Jervis St, waterstones I think it is, they normally have a good selection of poker books.

Buy off Amazon, $19.99 v €28.00 in book shop, there is shipping costs ~$9.00
so for best value buy 2 books, Volume 2 or Theory of poker.

I got mine in Borders in Blanchardstown a couple of months ago - they had 2 copies at the time.
I don't have their number but you'll find that easy enough.

lol, just rang borders and waterstones, don't have it either! ah well amazon it is so... i presume anyone serious about poker owns this book. I wonder does this take away the value of it in anyway?

TBH most books are only references anyway, its a good book if you want to learn how poker should be played, and if you adhere to the guidelines strictly you will beat low limit tables online, its ABC poker but reading it alone will not win you m(any) tournements or win you a lot of money in cash games. There is far more and some better info available on online poker forums, however if you are relatively new to poker Harrington on Hold em is as good a place to start as anywhere.

The Hoh 1 & 2 cover the fundamentals of poker. Even if you've been playing successful poker for years these books will help with your game. Also suitable for a beginner. BUY 'EM !!

Well i'm playing online about 18 months, couple of MTT wins and a number of final tables but I just need something to help me to improve certain areas of my game. Still a fairly novice player with a good understanding of the game, but I presume experience helps more than anything. Still havn't ventured to any live games just yet, i'm sure that's a whole different experience!

I think Dan Harrington comes across as ridiculously tight in this, even though it's a very good book, lots of interesting examples.

Eg he would muck AT preflop in late position if there were two callers? With no raise?

Reading downloaded books is a painful experience.

She can't tell you, or she'll get banned on her second day, and you on your first! Illegal downloading (even just talking about it) is against the rules of the forum.

They are pretty ABC books, and will help if you are not sure of the standard way to play most hands. It won't do a lot for your creative side, but if you follow these books you should have an improved chance of cashing in tournies. I got mine from Amazon as well btw, but only mostly read the first one, and half read the second one. Poker books bore me.

Also, telling people how to download illegal copies of stuff isn't allowed on boards, so please don't do it anyone. Thanks.

I jumped the gun and snipped the download mentions. 5Starpool and lenny explained why.

They are good solid books for giving you a solid base understanding of tournament play, even if you have been playing for 18 months you could very easily be completely clueless. I certainly was when I first started and it took about a year to realise just how clueless I was when I read my first book and reading and posting on on-line Forums.
