Nope. NBC will be showing Heroes as per usual in the States and BBC2 bought the exclusive rights to season 2.

I meant on Sci/Fi in the states, I think that's the channel it's aired on over there.

im confused, how can BBC afford exclusive rights to season 2?
Also how far behind the BBC are the american TV stations going to be?

Are you sure?? it does not make any sense, its been years since i have watched TV but if im still right BBC is a state run station that has no ads?

your telling me the station that is airing Heroes season 2 (MASSIVE RATINGS) wont have any ads to cover the massive cost of buying the rights?

i dont think that makes any sense are you sure bbc didnt just get the rights to be the first UK station to air it?

EDIT: http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/heroes/episodes/ The BBC Heroes site is woefully out of date, does not even have season 1 episodes filled in yet, does not have the promos for season 2 or any mention of it

http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/about/ NBC site has a promo saying september 24th, if BBC where going to air it before then i hope they tell us soon

    Yep, you're confused.

BBC have exclusive UK rights to Season 2 of Heroes. Season one may have had "massive" ratings on the UK SciFi channel but in real terms its a niche channel and the "second play" of this series on BBC2 will multiply that by a fair few...

I think you're "massively" over estimating how much it costs to purchase US shows. In reality its the cheapest TV available as even a 30 minute home improvement show costs more to make.

BBC will show Heroes on BBC2 and BBC3 to maximise viewers.

Obviously the US stations will show it first

You're very confused :) The BBC is not short of money to buy in imports and you're greatly over-estimating the cost of these imports. If Sci-Fi can get the budget to show 'Heroes', don't you think BBC - with its millions and millions from license fees - can afford to get the rights?

Now whether they should be, or instead focusing on home-made dramas with license money is a different issue but of course they can afford it! And if you want a precedent for something like, then look no further than 'The X-Files' which the BBC showed and which as big, if not bigger, than 'Heroes' has been.

Well they've shown about 5 episodes of Season 1 but I wouldn't be holding my breadth waiting for them to bring out the second season. The main English channels are usually pretty slow to air US shows (with the exception of Sky) about a full season behind the US. This is because they have exclusive rights to them and know that British viewers will just have to wait for them to air the shows to see them.

RTE is different in that it has to air its US imports quicker than the British channels because so many Irish people have British channels. If RTE don't show their shows quickly the British channels might get the jump on them even though RTE have the exclusive Irish rights.

So my advice to you (since I can't legally recommend any other option) : watch Heroes S2 on Channel 6 here instead of waiting for the Beeb to show it.

Dunno but the finished S1 there about 3 weeks ago used to be on at 9.30 on a Thursday. Same time as the Sopranos.

I burnt out the auld tape recorder with that one.

But presumably they'll have it earlier than BBC but comfortably after there shown in the US. November/December time would be my guess
