Over the next few weeks. Trinity aren't overly pushed with sending vast amounts of information, etc.

If you want the important dates: 1st of October Freshers week begins.
8th of October: for the large majority of students, you will start lectures this day, unless you're nursing or one of those other crazy courses.

So we'll be in from 8th October to when? Is it 12 weeks?

We have three terms. Michaelmas, Hilary and Trinity terms. Respectively they are 9, 9 and 6 weeks. That means there is almost a month break over christmas, and another in march.

If you're arts you also get "reading weeks", because there just isn't enough material to fill a full term of 8 hour weeks.

Some courses (BESS for one) has an extra week of exams at the end of Michaelmas adn Hillary terms. However we do get reading weeks in them as well - be glad for them, they let you catch up on all the material that you missed during the first half of the term, and can set you up for a good grade in your MT tests.

Edit: Can't believe I misspelled BESS
