Went for a (romantic  ) walk with Roen on Sunday evening, along the backstrand in Tramore. Was an amazing sky out. Stormclouds, rainclouds and no clouds, all in one go...

    Anyways, here you go:

All images clickable for viewing on black background @ a larger size, which as usual, I reccommend. :)

1 and 2 are excellent Al.

find the last one a bit burnt out.

1 is my favourite. Stunning conversion. Love the clouds.

Please don't print any for this weekend. I'm struggling as it is with my mono's :o

I had a lovely mono for the weekend, which the printed managed to make a balls of.

    Grrrr.

    Now it's all colour.

the top right hand corner of the first two is a bit hot for me... Other than that, they're class! Your black and whites are always great!

Really nice shots Al, very dramatic and atmospheric.

Grand job Al. Mighty conversion. I have 1 B&W, Maybe too to contrast the oversaturated others. Saturation sells I tell ya............ we'll see.

Were these taken before or after I pointed out the fact that your camera wasn't working because the lens cap was on?

    Fair play!
I liked them on the make shift monitor at home and they look a lot better now here in work. The conversions are great.
Did you monkey with the sky by any chance? I don't recall a filter being used.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,624 ✭✭✭✭Fajitas!

A slight bit of monkeying alright! Using the channel mixer to bring it all out really.

Btw, where did that new moniter you text me about land? I'll go rob it!

Ah ok, it's just that I thought that those particular clouds were west of where the image was taken.
Monitor will be available for your viewing pleasure later today!

Lovely stuff Al. I've been looking out at the dunes for the past couple of evenings, and telling myself I should drag my lazy ass out of the house - proof that I should have listened to myself!

    Ah they're great alright.

All the more reason we should have a Waterford meetup tbh!

I probably would have pulled the 1st one back a bit as I think its a bit too dark even for a moody kind of shot like this. 2 & 3 are also a fraction too dark imo - great pictures but overall darkness level seems a fraction too far. The composition and detail in all are top notch though the jet black area in the middle of the frame on the first is possibly too dark and prominent.
