    Hello...

    I just saw the departed the other night on dvd.

    Can someone plz tell me whats the building with the golden dome??

    and whats the significance of it in the movie??

    PS - and does anyone know what jack nicholson drew on the peice of paper that he gave to the priest??

    It's the Massachusetts State House.

    I think the significance is it's Matt Damon's characters goal. A kid from Southie making it that far.

    From what I can remember of the film I don't think that's what the significance was. I thought that it was just there to show the corruption that was happening all the time (in government and the like), especially the cheesy bit at the end with the rat.
