Going for a long weekend away in the next couple of weeks and ashamed to say that I have never been to Donegal. Would like a town or village with a bit of a buzz to it for the nights but near to nice scenic places like hills or beaches for touring during the day. Any recomendations?

Bundoran has a few good bars etc for nightlife and the scenery (mainly coastline and beaches) are at your doorstep.

During summer though it is usually crammed with tourists, so it might not be your thing if you are going for a quiet weekend :-)

It can be a bit seaside-tacky with the amusements etc..
