Can anything be done to refund a Ryanair flight?

So I got shafted by the Aer Lingus threat of a strike. I had a flight booked to Lyon for a conference on Wednesday and seen as how it really looked like it was going ahead, I cancelled the flight, and booked a flight with Ryanair to fly Dublin to Carcassonne. Then I'd take the TGV across to Lyon.
As a result the new travel arrangements cost over €300 and the TGV is going to take 3 hours to get to Lyon.
Now the strike is cancelled, I've decided to rebook with the aer lingus flight, free of charge, seen as it cuts 3 hours travel time. But is there any possible way of getting Ryanair to refund me the money?

(This is mostly just a rant.....but any suggestions would be appreciated!)

How much is a name change? Could you sell the flights to someone else perhaps?

You can only claim back the taxes, however they apply an "administration" charge which is more than you would be refunded.

It only works out in your favour if your getting a refund for a group of people, even then you would have needed to book the group on your card in a single booking.

What's the story with your refund for the TGV?
