Job for Finnish girlfriend

    Hello!

I have been living in Helsinki for the last three years (teaching English) but myself and my girlfriend are moving back to Dublin for the foreseeable future. I wanted to ask the lovely people of Boards what kind of "real jobs" could be available to her.

She has a business studies degree but not much relevant experience. She speaks Finnish, Swedish and English fluently.

By the looks of it, she could get a job working in Finnish in a call centre, but the recruitment agencies I've been in contact with wont tell me the companies they are hiring for. P***ks! Do any of you know the companies that hire Finns/Swedes?

Would there be any better options for her, as a 24 year old business studies graduate with fluent English? I've heard that there are loads of Funds companies set up here who are always looking for graduates. That might be an option..

Or some work in the tourist industry?

Anyway, I've been away for almost three years and I'm not too familiar with the job situation over here, but I've assured her that she'll get a decent job no bother.

Thanks a mill for any help.

    Col

They probably wont tell you the name of the place incase she goes and
applies directly to the company and cut them out of the loop for commission.

Are you based in Dublin? Seen this and this on irishjobs.ie

Also, Google / eBay / Paypal appear to have lots of stuff for bilingual persons. Check them out.

You could both easily go work for one of the Microsoft vendors as a Licence Specialist or Accounts. They are always hiring Scandanavians.

If I were you, seeing as you both have fluent English, I would skip the call centre jobs.

I know the funds company PFPC are always looking for people with business degrees.

A call centre is a good job to tide her over for a few months.
But with a business degree she could easily work in finance and funds companies in the IFSC and around the country are always looking for staff.

Might pay more than a call centre and being able to speak Finnish is bound to be an advantage.
