Hi,
I have wireless broadband 1.5MB down and 1.5MB up. I want to get a VOIP phone for the house that allows incoming calls as well. I do not have any phone in the house so ideally I would like it to be wireless ie do not need to be plugged into pc or router as this has to be upstairs by window.

What would be the cheapest hardware solution.

HI

Will this solution allow me to use Skype to Skype calls AND use my blueface credit to dial out also?

I.E. use this solution to be contactable by VOIP number 076 XXX and also by skype users in my friends list?

If not, any suggestions on what i could use?

Cheers

D

My solution is sip only. Not for skype

There are Skype only handsets [wired and wireless]. Some need to be connected to yur computer and some don't. As far as I know, an all in one sip/skype solution won't be cheap. Might be cheaper to add a Skype device to my solution above.

I have no interest in Skype so can't offer any suggestions on compatable products.

A quick google or search on komplett.ie will give you loads of options in under 30 seconds.

My brother uses one of these with both skype and blueface, just connect the pstn port to your ATA.

I spoke to my sister in Perth today for an hour for nothing, when she was home last summer she bought a Blueface PAP2 and plugged it into her DSL broadband when she went home, excellent quality (even with 400ms ping). Calls to her 076 number count as part of my mobile minutes and all the rest of the extended family get local rates to her.
It works so well that sister #2 also in Perth got one as well:D

Dublindibert, you wouldnt have the sellers name you bought this from? Has anyone ever ordered from one of the Hong Kong based sellers for a Linksys Pap2? Kinda wary of these guys....

Bought two from these guys, one was faulty, but replaced immediately, post a wee bit slow, average 10-14 days from Hong Kong.

How about one of these phones? Seems like a good deal

From peoples experiences should i just stick to what works i.e. PAP2 and normal PSTN dect phones and have a seperate USB phone for the skype calls (max 10 people i will contacting via skype). AS per IrishTLR??
