Best Place in Asia to Celebrate New Year

Hopefully heading to Asia for the New Year Fly to Hong Kong on Stephens Day and then we wanted to head to Vietnam and then up to Thailand However heard in HK 3-4 days is the max you would spend there so dont know were to fly to celebrate the New Year Was thinking of going to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi but not sure Any suggestions

I'd stay in Hong Kong for the new year or maybe Bangkok. I wouldn't go to Vietnam but then again I can't stand the place.
