Laser Eye Surgery - To burn or not to burn

I hope that this isn't a frequent question.

I have been flirting with the option of laser surgery for a while now but I have a few questions. I use glasses & lens. My job requires me to have perfect corrected vision and I would love to bin them.

My eyes are -1.25 and -1.50. Will this procedure give me 20/20 vision? I can survive without glasses but when I am used to seeing 100% I do not like going back to 90%.

Have many people had side effects?? Night vision and/or dry eye etc??

Which/where is the best procedure available? Pamphlets from the clinics aren't very helpful.

What is a reasonable cost and how much is refundable from the taxman??

    Thanks in advance

    Milmo
