It probably just uses a standard ATX power supply, so any with a similar or higher power rating will do (as long as it's not cheap junk).

I know this is vague .. but he is looking for one similar to the one already in the machine. it has 2 power points and an output for a speaker jack. anybody know ?

Many power supplies have the inverse socket for a monitor (if that's what the second point your talking about is), but it's very unlikely you'll find one with a speaker jack. I assume you mean a power output for the speakers?

I was looking for one of these for a similiar machine (imedia 1804) and couldn't find one. Best hope is ebay i reckon

What sort of connection is there for the speakers? I'd take a guess at whatever way it's connected it's probably just 12V DC, which you can easily buy a separate transformer for (or if you really want you could hand-wire it from any PC power supply). I can't see speakers that come with a Packard Bell PC being particularly great, so I wouldn't think it would be worth searching for some obscure PSU.

The extra connection is indeed a DC output for powered speakers.

PSU's that I have bought in the past only have an IEC power inlet. I'm not sure if the IEC outlet was done away with due to the surge required by CRT monitors.

So what if a new PSU doesn't have an AC loopthru, just run a power cable to the monitor. Quicker than sourcing a PSU with a loopthru!

ok .. I guess its the power supply for the speakers, which ill suggest him to get a seperate one.

I found this site http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/ but I have no idea which of these would work? Or could somebody point me in the right direction? Im not too "tuned in" on these.
    Thanks again for any replies
