    Hello!
I accepted my place in DCU this morning, and i'm going to start looking for a new part time job soon. I was just wondering if i should put this on my CV. like that i'll be starting in DCU in October or whatever?????
Also should junior cert results be on the CV or not??? Seems a bit irrelevant at this stage...
Any advice would be gratly appreciated:D

You should put it on a cover letter, the fact that you're starting DCU in october and will be able to work x amount of hours a week. There's no place for it on your CV. Also, why would you put your Junior Cert results? Nobody cares about them now! They take an interest in your most recent examinations, as far as I know

    And only really the points.

Do you think i should put the number of points i got on it, like underneath the results????

Yeah I was actually looking into getting a job too in Dublin. A cover letter and CV sounds right with the Leaving Cert. grades and points on the CV. Good luck with it!

Nobody will care about the points. They mean nothing in the real world.
List your grades and levels in the Leaving and in a cover letter give the name of your course in DCU.

Really, most employers will be more interested in will you work early morning/late nights/weekends/bank holidays than did you get B3 or C1 in Geography.

I wouldn't put the points in a cv, I wouldn't but the subjects and grades in either though! Just put in that you have your leaving cert and then, as spurious says above, tell them what course you're doing in your cover letter. They'll know you're going to college so that's their indication you've done well, they won't care about the details.

Actually, I've just thought, a lot of people replying to you here will probably be at the same stage as you and so maybe not the best to give advice on your cv, you should try the Work & Jobs forum.

Depends on what your planning on doing / have done.

Example: a B in honours Business may look nice if you're doing a 4 year degree in Buisness and you're applying for a sales position.

Saying that, though, a B in honours Geography won't matter if you're applying for a job for a sales rep in Virgin.
