ebay: seller ramping up p+p

I bought some items from a US seller about a week ago, and paid what I was quoted for p+p. I now get an email from the seller telling me I need to pay another x dollars, that he "quoted me the wrong figure". I've tried looking around eBay for a direct email address, but all I can find is the dispute thing, and all they'll find is the original auction which has nothing wrong with it.

This doesn't seem like a very ethical thing to do, but do I have any sort of comeback?

No comeback according to the eBay rules, but they do frown upon postage rate hikes after auctions. - Just leave neutral feedback!

Its always the same though... the us postal system has so many rates and services that it is hard for US sellers to find out overseas prices.

But saying that, i was looking at the american version of the office dvd from a seller in the US during the week and emailed to ask what postage for it would be to Ireland...

    The response...

    Hi,

I checked with my local post office and i was told it would be $48 to the republic of Ireland

    Thanks, Kit*****
