Travelling to Fishguard for a day trip on the ferry from Rosslare.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to eat or things to do there?

My first question would be WHY?

Fishguard is, like Holyhead, somewhere you just drive through when you get off the ferry. There are a couple of bars in the town, but that's about it.

You should change this to Fishguard is like Wales - somewhere you just drive through when you get off the ferry - Holyhead doesn't cover it :)

Ooh! Great comeback. Try punctuating it for some meaning.

I haven't been myself but I have heard from friends who have been that Oakwood theme park is a good place to visit when going on a daytrip to Pembroke or Fishguard. If you take your car, it should be no problem to get there or else there should be a coach going there too

i came here to ask something and not to have it questioned. information on fishguard is what this is about. not why am i going. if your going to start a reply negatively then it would be preferable you do not reply at all

more information if anyone has it please

You haven't said if you are taking your car or not so it is hard to know what exactly you want info on.

There is nothing at all beside the port besides the train station with 2 trains a day. Fishguard itself is about 2 miles away and it is very small, not a great deal to do there.

If you have a car you could drive and/or walk part of the Pembrokeshire coast, most of it is now designated as a national park and there is a lot of stunning scenery there.

You should go to Oakwood. It's a theme park, about 45 minutes away. I think it's £15 in for the whole day.

I go there every now and again.

Why is it that when some posters on boards ask for info they get all tetchy when they get an answer they don't like?

If you don't have a car, it's a waste of a day going to Fishguard, unless you like sitting on a boat for 7 hours or it's a booze cruise, in which case you won't really care what there is to do.
