    hey guys,

looking for opinions as I'm planning on buying either the Canon 350D or Canon 400D through pixmania but looking at the spec sheets for both cameras there doesnt seem to any major difference in photo qaulity.

Am I right in thinking this and that the extra money that would be paid for a 400D would just be for a few extra features and functions (that I'm fairly sure I wouldnt really be using)

Planning to use it for low light photography. Opinions much appreciated as I dont really wanna fork out an extra €160 odd quid for nothing of importance.

    thanks

There was a thread in the last few days about the same thing... probably worth looking up :)

Would opt for the 400D tbh, the extra MP means you can crop that bit more.

    Though it's hard to say.

Either one is a great camera, the 400D is just newer.

Yeah i started a thread on this a few days ago, and yesterday i went into town and bought a 350d with canon kit bag and 1gig card for a much better price than even pixmania. My brother has the 400d and they're very very similar. The extra mpixels on the 400d may come in handy if you're going to crop your shot a lot but the image quality is almost identical to the 350d, however i would say that the screen is a bit small on the 350d which has to be it's biggest downfall.

thanks for the replies guys. i wont be cropping shots that much and anything i will be cropping will only be for the web. i also knew about the slightly smaller 1.8" screen size for the 350D and its not going to bother me that much (if at all)

think i'll go with the 350D so and get 2gig card, 50mm f1.8 lens & case to go with it for the same price as the 400D

    cheers
