Scarey Monsters

As well as being on one of my worst runs in a long long time... the monsters are getting scarey too.... I've had so many pairs cracked in the last 2 weeks I think I'm playing them scared... all these hands are from tonights play.

any advice apprciated.. some are HH's some are from memory


villan 1 the donk better is an idiot... villan 2 is aggressive but seems solid enough.. he's 3 bet me a lot and we havn't clashed yet

Villan has been causing me grief with his 3 betting preflop and on the flop.. I have folded to his flop raises a few times after c -betting

Villan is our own Phantom Lord... at 21/16/1.6/800 stacks 130 each approx

He has been active from his button and I'm his BB

I have 77 and call a standard raise from the Villan on the button...

flop QQQ I check he bets 7 i make it 20 he makes it 60..
Me?? Anyway I cant bring myself to make the call although I believe it's a play....

300bb's villan covers deep villan is a good player capable of moves but is a winning regular... we havn't clashed as there is enough fish at the table for us both...

I have KK in ep and raise to 3.50. he makes it 12 in position.

I 4 bet to 50 he calls..

Flop 10s9s7h I bet 75 he pushes??

1 - dunno what you have but I prob fold anyway!
2 - once you 3 bet flop I think you're going with the hand, other option is call and CRAI on turn. There are a lot of draws/combo draws/overpairs to the board he can have, and I think the lower flop makes it far more likely you are ahead with QQ, as opposed to hand 1. I think you played it fine. You left his hand in the post if you want to delete it btw!
3- c/f flop he obv has quads.
4- yes def call. AK/JJ gotta be in there. every time I call 3-bets with AA I get flops like that too
5- ugh..very read dependent and can't really answer without them imo, what does he 3-bet with etc. With no reads I expect to see AA here a lot. I don't like 4-betting KK this deep either

Hand 1:
Some amount of action on the flop looks like someone has hit a pretty nice hand.

Hand 2:
He could be doing this with a good few hands that you are ahead of and your getting almost 3/1 so a call is a must. What sort of hands has he shown down after a lot of flop aggression vs the pre-flop raiser?

Hand 3:
Interesting to see both sides of this hand I have already read the other side though. To get to a higher level you have to hone your reading abilities so if you really think this is a play you have to be willing to trust your instincts. You know the villain is decent and that he knows you will struggle to carry on with the hand.

Hand 4:
Nasty looking flop but you still should be ok.

Hand 5:
Pretty nasty. If you think there is enough easy money then I would happily fold and just pick up easy pots off the fish.

Hand 2 I shipped it and he had 45 for 2 pair and I didn't improve

Hand 3 This was very interesting as PL posted same hand in another thread...... I really felt I was good here and was dissappointed in myself for not shoving..... god bless the monsters I folded... He had a Q (wp sir) nearly got me

Hand 4 I fold

Hand 5 I chicken out again.....

you are going to have to take a stand somewhere along the line against the villain in first two hands. otherwise he is going to batter you every time you have a top starting hand. i would certainly have folded in hand 1 and given him the benefit of the doubt, but i would have called in hand 2. while no one likes to lose money, there is a very good chance that you are ahead, and you also to need to see what he is playing this aggressively with. calling once could make or save you a lot of money in the long term against this guy.

hand 4 you have to fold
hand 5 i would again fold

i think the run you are on is starting to get to you as well and the best thing you could do is take a break for 2 weeks and clear the mind.

not bad advice mrflash... the MUTBS is getting at me alright..

Every time I seem to call a push with an overpair I'm behind and every time I fold I feel I was ahead........ Need to get my head back around it alright......

Seemed to have turned the corner again the last few sessions by tightening up from around 25/15 to around 18/12.... going to keep it like that for a little while more and see how it goes...

interesting hand alright, first time i 've ever seen a hand posted twice at the same time! a bit unfortunate tho as it meant we couldn't get any discussion on it.

i just figured that this was the best way to get paid, since u weren't some random fish who was gonna stack easily.

yeah I did actually and in that hand it didn't even cost me a thought as I believed you had a bigger pair.....

Looks like my thinking was reverse order?

You so nearly got me in the QQQQ hand... I was raging with myself for not stickin it in!!! Felt you were going to show up with AK here..... I thought about shoving and I thought I had FE here as well.....I really like the play and if I wasn't on my current poor run I prob would have in different circumstances....... Actually run seems to have turned around and I'm back playing 1/2 again...
