Hey, just wondering if i was to get the Tokyo Maurui VSR-10 Real Shock Version on uncompany.com, what would i need to add a scope? Would it just be a mounting base and the actual mount?

What im thinking (all from uncompany) is:

    Marui VSR-10 Real Shock Version
    Marui Mount Base VSR-10
    Classic Army-Mount-20mm
    Scope 3-9x40E

    All comes to approx 175EUR.

Just an option anyway. Dont know if im gonna go with it or not yet. Looked at some youtube footage of the VSR-10 and it looks pretty good. Any opinions?

Two things about the VSR-10 I noticed while someone was showing me one.

    1. The stock power is quite weak. It's about 270fps I think. It almost feels a bit pathetic to fire if you're using long distances. You'd really need to get a 1j spring upgrade.

    2. It's extremely light. Granted, the one I was using had no scope so that would add some extra weight.

Another i was looking at is the AGM M14 Electric rifle. Its quite cheap tho so i dunno what the quality would be like. It would allow me to afford an AEG also tho.

Well the AGM m14 is an AEG. So you'd basically be buying 2 AEGs. Why not put the money together and just buy one really good one?

Or buy a clone and spend the rest of the money on gear you'll need.

Ah, i dunno. I kinda want a sniper for the target practice fun value and then an assault rifle for skirmishing ect. Doesnt need to be an expensive sniper rifle, just something that is accurate enough.

Actually, for sniper rifles are there only particular mounting bases and rings that fit certain rifles or would all fit?

The standard is 20mm rails with ring mounts to fit them. They can be purchased in high or low sizes.

Advice: Everyone says sniping can be tedios at alot of the time as you're just lying in a bush waiting for the enemy to come into your sights. There is a lot more action when assaulting with an AEG.

You do not need a sniper to target pracrtice! I use a DE UMP Below for target practice.

Think about a long barreled AEG. A bullpup(L85, AugA1/A2) or an m14 or the long version of the G36. Theres loads of options!

An M14 is a sniper rifle isnt it? Altho with an automatic fire mode. That and the Dragunov are my 2 favourite rifles. Drag just cos it looks so good tho :)

the m14 has to be one of the best option for anyone unsure of weather to get a sniper or an aeg, it has the potential to be both. and with one of them you can go for the Black Hawk Down "Delta" loadout and have a rather cheap but striking load out.
its basiacly, a black protec skateboard helmet, some des tri colour and a black vest.

well i have an agm m14.

firstly the quality is way way better then i expected. the firing distance for the stock battery is okay, but to be honest most stock batteries in clones (with perhaps the exception of the dboys one i have) are poor and you will sooner or later need a replacement. it is nicd as well which are IMHO, a real hit or miss affair on charging. a good nimh might be a better option.

the agm comes with a ris/ras rail on top with a side mounted hand adjustable nut if you want to remove it and go with the fitted sights

it fires fast on auto, a lot faster then i expected.

if is friggen heavy. i played a round or 2 on saturday with it and i noticed the difference between that and the m4. you need a sling, and the sling that comes with it is poor.

the agm does not have a bottom mounted rail for the addition of ris/ras scopes. you will have to fit that yourself, but it does have the screw hole to fit one.

the agm had a battery issue, where they wired them backwards. this meant you have to take the plastic battery clip and swap it on both the aeg and the battery if you wanted to continue using them with a standard charger and standard batteries. HOWEVER, mine was wired correctly, so perhaps the newer models they have fixed this issue.

The other thing is the m14 (all of them) is LOOOONNNG, it is not for cqb. this is a big aeg, think old style horse mounted LANCE.

finally do not buy the mid caps on rsov, THEY DO NOT work on AGM, or it appears anything else for that matter and i have 6 of them to prove it! the 300 round hi caps do work. the single/auto switch on agms is apparently weak and if you dont engage them properly you wind up with auto only. you can fix that, but be aware it is a known weakness.

one final thing there are a lot of m14's out there and you need to be careful with the magazines as everyones is slightly different. so the g&g magazines are slightly different from the TM ones (apparently). i got this one basically because i will occasionally use it. i am not saying you could not use it all the time, it just for me i wanted an m14, well because i wanted an m14. i agree with o1s1n, if you want to commit to say a sniper role, you might be better spending the money on a top brand one. depends on how much cash you have, if you dont have the cash, then i think the AGM is a good option. there is another m14 now that is totally tm compat, its either cyma or JG (i think its JG) and they are getting excellent reviews. you could always consider that as well..

    good luck.

i think thats is either tanaka or tanio koba that did the blowback ones.

thanks on the review comment, Actually i had planned to do one, just didnt get around to it yet. its accurate as well. the plastic body (i got the black one) is well molded, there is only one mold line i can see with some plastic flashing on it but some sandpaper will fix that, but to be honest i am not bothered by it and only remember when i wrote the previous reply.

i didnt tag anyone on saturday with it, but thats because i am a crap shot to be honest ! LOL

the hicaps work very well in it, and i hate hicaps. am seriously thinking of a whole BHD impression for it.

Ok, This one looks quite a good deal to me. Havent seen anything about this site on the threads here so anyone got any experience with them? By my estimation 95 metres per sec is about 320 fps so its legal, unless i converted it to feet wrong of course ;)

EDIT: Too good to be true: FAQ: Do you ship items to outside of the UK?
Unfortunatley we do not. Delivery is only available to mainland UK addresses and the Isle of Wight.

With a scope and suppresor its damn cool. Dunno about preformance.

Edit: May be over the limit but may have a power control to tune it down.

Found another Here. What do you guys think? Delivers to Ireland. Only 16.15pounds for delivery so comes to 146.14 overall. A good deal? This looks like the AGM one, can anyone confirm that for me?
Cheers for all the help selecting a rifle btw. Would be lost without you guys ;)

    Reviews:
Just arrived to day very quick delivery (2 days) i was very suprised the rifle is so solid proper heavy weight, every thing about this gun is amazing, i allready own 2 tokyo marui rifles and this is by far way better. so many metal parts and the scope and bipod are of very good quality, and what an incredable price the marui one is double without the extras!!!! A+++

    Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Yea, read through those reviews. Only one person left a neg one but he didnt have the rifle. He was commenting on AEG Snipers in general. May go with this one then i think. Will need to wait till the end of the week to get the cash but looks like a plan anyway. Cheers again for the replies.

Ah yea, they are great. I would like a Dragunov but they are quiet expensive and most seem to break the 1j mark by quite a bit.

Ohh, guy had an SVD last time in predator. Got that was awsome. He had the Auto version, not the bolt.

Would love to have one, someday hopefully :) Got the shoppinglist sorted. M14, 2,000 bb`s (should be plenty as when i go to HRTA i can buy more there) and a folding target with net (also, 2000 bb`s will be plenty as most should end up in the net, unless my shooting is THAT bad! :) )

That sounds like you're planning to re-use the BB's.

Bad idea. They can be deformed during the first shooting, and if they're reused, they can cause problems with your AEG.

Oh really? I didnt know that. Cheers for the heads up. I will get a few more thousand in that case as i dont know when ill be getting to HRTA.
