AA in a 3way pot

Just interested to see how many people think this is an instacall or if they play the hand any different.

Playing a live tournament €100 buyin with 1 optional rebuy/addon for €100 and we're into the freezout stage. Theres 44 out of 124 players left and blinds are 500/1000/50

    I'm sitting on 17.5k

UTG minraises to 2k. Its the first time he's done this. I havent seen him showdown a hand and he's been quite active. 2 orbits ago i folded KK to him on a QQ84 board (pot 28k) after i 3bet him PF from the BB.

I make it 5800 with AcAd hoping he has KK/QQ and comes over the top. CL directly to my left calls 5600. She's quite weak/passive. This hand could be anything from 78s up to KK. Just a flat calling machine that never shows any aggresion in pots regardless of hand strength.

Folded to UTG and he calls 5600.

Flop is Jc10c9c and UTG moves allin for 12300.

I'm trying to rule out KK or QQ now because i feel he would have 4bet PF but they could still be in his range here. I have 11800 and dwelling over my decision while the player to my left is counting out 12300 and looks ready to call.

I'd be getting roughly 4/1 on my money should one of them have a set

    call??

I'd have made it more PF. It'd be a fold without the Ac but with it I think I just move in too. A fd is 3/1 against a set so the odds are good enough for me

I normally bet more PF but ii was the 1st time he'd minraised all night and i was hoping it meant KK/QQ and he'd push preflop.

its very rare you fold AA with 100bbs. With 17blinds, and 5 of them gone in preflop im never ever ever ever folding

Its the first time I have ever minraised (intentionally) in my life.

In a moment of madness I decided that a min raise would be suitable different (in the context of the game) that it would make other players weary.

Its something I have seen a few times online and was wondering how it would transfer.

    It doesnt.

Tony i think with the min raise here you should raise a bit more, knowing you im surprised you were so passive pre flop as i know how you hate min raises....
either way im never folding here, that A of c is like gold here....

Sumoward i can see the image you were trying to portray but raise more for gods sake...

Wes, since when is raising just shy of 3 times a minraise passive? I've already said why i raised a little less than i normally would. My normal raise in this spot would only be 6500 anyways so not a helluva lot of difference.

You'd really ship it in here with 2 red aces without a moments thought? Just 1 pair?

alright / alright / calm down / calm down

its still passive for you in this situation because i know how much it gets under your skin 'min raising'
    :D

Min-raising my big blind gets under my skin. They can do what they want elsewhere!

    It doesnt.

It has its place, although very infrequently, saying that, its more an online thing, never works live.

I really think there is some piece of information you are leaving out, like this is a satellite with 43 tickets, or the guy has already exposed the king and queen of clubs.

If you want to consider folding here I think you would be much better off to push or fold preflop.

Theres no need to be a fckin smart arse. Why would i do either preflop?? Are you tryin to say that once you have aces, your situation doesnt change based on any other action or what cards come on the flop?

I thought that this was an interesting situation because theres a reasonable chance that i was behind in the hand and i may have to hit to win the hand. You're roughly 36% to hit a flush. In this situation, i have to pressume that some of the clubs are gone and that its possible that 2 of the remaining clubs would fill a straight flush for an opponent.

If theres a set or 2 pair out there and the board pairs i'm also dead so sorry for thinkin that this isnt the instacall that you think it is.

This is a complete no-brainer call for me.

And if 2 of the remaining clubs complete a straight flush (which I couldn't be bothered with TBH), it means you're ahead now and they're drawing to 2 - <10 outs.

I am serious. I think pushing preflop > folding preflop > raising normal preflop and not stacking off on this flop.

To the second part of your question, yes when I have aces and one 3/4 pot bet left in my stack it doesn't really matter what the flop is. If I got here with Ac 2h, I wouldn't fold that hand either fwiw, but I don't think spending a few seconds considering a fold with that hand would be stupid.
