.APE files to .mp3?

Right, I've acquired a few audio files, which I found - to my dismay - were in APE or "monkey's audio" format - a frustratingly ill-supported one at that. I can play the files alright, but I can't, for the life of me, find a free program that'll convert them into Mp3 format. Does anyone know of such a program? Any help…

Right, I've acquired a few audio files, which I found - to my dismay - were in APE or "monkey's audio" format - a frustratingly ill-supported one at that.

I can play the files alright, but I can't, for the life of me, find a free program that'll convert them into Mp3 format.

Does anyone know of such a program?

Any help that would save me from navigating an infuriating web of shareware and trial versions would be greatly appreciated.

Turns out that 8T8's program is the only one that doesn't involve payment in any form to convert to Mp3.

All the help and searching is very appreciated.
