Reasons to keep my ps3...

    Anyone got any...

Have a 360 n got the ps3 a few weeks ago. Have resistance on it(dont like it, feels so dated compared to GOW, R6 las vegas)

Went to have a looks for a few games to buy, couldnt find anything worth getting. All the good games i have on my 360.

The store has a few good things but nothing special.. HD movie trailers, tekken n that but that wouldnt warrant me keeping it. Also, dont seem to be able to download trials of games before u buy them... like xbox arcade

Best thing on it is the GT demo, plays fairly well, looks fantastic... As far as i can see that'd be my sole reason for keeping it.

Blue ray seems to be winning(over here) in the sales stakes. I can rent/buy them in xtravision etc so thats a benifit over the HD-DVDs...

Either way, there's not allot to warrant me keeping it... Anything cool in the pipeline for the PS3?? Anything funky i can do with it in the mean time??

There should be some decent PS3 games out in Q4 2007 or
    Q1 2008.

Like yourself I have not bought anything for it since launch
as I haven't seen anything that's either worthwhile or that I
hadn't already bought for the 360.

I'll hang onto my PS3 but as for gaming I'll be playing Bioshock
and Halo 3 on the 360 for the next couple of months.

Hopefully Sony will get around to releasing some decent stuff in
the run up to Christmas which will give me a reason to dust
    off the PS3.

Well before christmas you can play heavenly sword, assassins creed, call of duty 4, gran turismo prologue and home should be out as well. Most of the games I mentioned are multiplat, but they are still reasons to keep the PS3.

Of those games call of duty n GT would interest me.. Id get call of duty on the 360 n assasins creed if its any good. I find the 360 better for multuplayer as more of my mates r on it n its easier to use. Worth the charge for live in my opinion(considering i get it on ebay for €30)

Home is sounds interesting but i doubt it'll keep my interest. Im in no rush to sell the PS3 on as i got a good deal on it so i know i could sell it near xmass n get my money back. I just wish there was a reason to keep it....

    reasons to keep your ps3:

call of duty 4 (will be a bit better on ps3)
unreal tournament 3 (will be a bit better on ps3)
    uncharted: drakes fortune
    lair
    warhawk
    heavenly sword
    singstar
    ratchet & clank
    final fantasy
    resident evil 5
devil may cry 4 (multi-plat, but it's being ported to 360, so i'd imagine it'll run slightly smoother on ps3)
    wipeout HD
    littlebigplanet
    folklore

beyond this year you have the likes of MGS, GT, Killzone et al coming. this christmas and beyond is when sony ramps up the PS3 project and tries to stick it to microsoft. the idea being that they're trying to entertain "everyone", while microsoft will once again rely a little too heavily (justifiably) on Halo...

call of duty 4 (will be a bit better on ps3)
    Source?
    resident evil 5
    Multi plat
devil may cry 4 (multi-plat, but it's being ported to 360, so i'd imagine it'll run slightly smoother on ps3)
I doubt it, its built on the same engine as Lost Planet and Dead Rising.

Call of Duty 4 n Unreal tournament might look/sound a bit better on the PS3 but these games exel in multiplayer.. I finished GOW in a week, been playing it near every day online since... Same with las vegas. To me the Xbox is a better online experience... bigger n more varied comunity. Then again, they've had a big lead in getting that.

    Games i'll look forward to...
    Singstar(missus will like it)
New Buzz game??(good for party's etc)
Pro evo(never felt right on the xbox)
GT(I had this n pro evo on my ps2 n that was it for 2yrs)
Ratchet n Clank(mate keeps going on about it)

UT3 on the ps3 should be really good on multiplayer as it's allowing cross platform play. PS3 vs PC. Plus the PS3 will have keyboard and mouse support.

UT3 is the biggest reason to hold on to the PS3 if you don't have a PC good enough to play it. UT3 won't be on the 360 till next year and no M&K support comfirmed. That and the PS3 is a really good and cheap Bluray player. Oh, GT5 prologue aswell.

I'm still waiting for the PS3 to get into gear aswell but I'm not going to get rid of it either. I just got my PS3 two weeks ago and most of the time its doing Folding at home tasks while I play my 360.

Little Big Planet should be a good laugh on the PS3 when it comes out next year.

I don't see how CoD4 will be better on the PS3 than the 360, even graphically. That and I find the 360 controller far better for FPS games. I have compared the two consoles for two weeks now side by side on a HDTV. There is either no difference or the 360 slightly tops the PS3 graphically, (except for Oblivion, that looks better and has a better frame rate on the PS3).

The PS3 has a good future its just going to take a while to tap into its power.

to be honest the Wii is in the same boat, ive hardly touched mine since january when i finished Zelda :TTP, aside from the odd Wii Tennis game, though it does have a better Christmas than PS3 with Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros Brawl...

still the 360 is certainly a better choice than ps3 right now...

    thought so, but wasn't sure...

that really doesn't come into play. it's on the same engine so it'll look very similar and play pretty much the same, but there'll be nuances that the 360 version won't have, and from my experience seeing tech demo's ported to 360 as examples of what happens, the games can look good because the teams have more available RAM but they loose a lot of frames in the process.

Why did you buy one if you don't have any reason to keep it

For both builds? Surely you are not playing a final build then. I assume you are talking about CoD4.

    IMO..

    2007 Highlights:

    Warhawk
    Heavenly Sword
    The Eye of Judgement
Unreal Tournament 3 (probably best on PC, but of the consoles, better on PS3)
    Hot Shots Golf 5
    Wipeout HD
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
    Singstar
    Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
    Echochrome
    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
    SOCOM: Confrontation
    Home
    Haze

+ the rest of the multiplatform stuff

    2008:

    LittleBigPlanet
    Killzone 2
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
    Gran Turismo 5
    Heavy Rain
    The Getaway (??)
    Final Fantasy XIII (??)
    Resistance 2 (??)
    White Knight Story
    Tekken 6
    Eight Days (??)

+ the rest of the multiplatform stuff and whatever else is unannounced.

These aren't comprehensive lists, just what I'm keeping my eye on in particular. So depending on taste you may have different highlights. You should look into what's coming up and see what you like or don't like.

I think most serious gamers will want a PS3 sooner or later, so if you already have one I'd hold on to it, particularly if you're also enjoying it as a Blu-ray player.
