need help: Renault clio immobiliser problem

Hi, I have some immobiliser problems with my Renault clio1.2 2000 recently,
    it won't start sometimes, SOMETIMES!!!

the mechanic said it's something to do with the immobiliser, and if it can't startup, just set on/off the alarm/immobiliser again and agian, and again, ...
or, have the car checked in renault center.

then, it seems every 2-3 days, I have to set on/off the alarm/immobiliser for a couple of times, then it will start. I searched on the internet, found it' s a common issue for all Renault cars, and I am going to try the following this weekend to fix it myself:

1.receiver can get dump, and cause the immobiliser to pack in until dried out.
the solution is take the receiver unit out, dry it on the radiator,
But, WHERE can i find the receiver? WHAT does it look like ???

    2. remove the TDC sensor, (top dead centre), clean it with dry cloth, and remove dirt from the TDC and electrics, (remove the negative lead first),
again, WHERE can i find the TDC sensor? WHAT does it look like ???

    any help will be aprreciated,

    Redlemon.

The imobilisers on the newer shaped clios do not have the same reciever set as the older ones so you can rule that out, the new ones have a small chip in the key and a loop in the ignition area that picks it up. On older models it was part of the central locking and as the reciever for that was under/beside the sunroof it tended to get damp.

It will not be the TDC sensor either.. I would think.

Hi, Mloc123, thanks for your reply,

Can you tell me exactly which wire I need to check in the ignition area ?
I can see a coupleof wires connected to the starter... but not sure if that is...
