I'm a big fan of Coles Corner....very hard to believe that he used to be in the Longpigs!

One great semi-britpop album 'The Sun Is Often Out' which is well worth checking out. Didn't do much after that and then Richard started playing with Pulp before going solo.

apparently he decided to go solo after scott walker who was producing pulp's we love life album heard him singing during a break in recording encouraged him to do so.

His version of troublesome waters is one of the great arrangements of that song.

True indeed. It's getting serious airplay on today fm and lots of adverts for it, very strange. I saw highlights of some Wednesday game last week, ye were singing 'We're forever blowing bubbles' Quite funny.

If there was any justice in the world, Richard Hawley would be number one in every chart in the world. But there isn't, and he isn't

Got this yesterday so just two listens.

    WOW.

Even better than Coles Corner I think.

    What a performer.

Decent article in the ticket too - It is a masterpiece alright, not sure if i'd say it#s better or worse than previous albums, it certainly stands on its' own.

A load of reviews I've seen are on his back.. Typical horse**** 'his heart isn't in it' nonsense and ****e about how he should have gone in a different direction and other guff. Doing something masterfully is no good anymore, you're expected to try something earth-shattering every time. Typical horse sh*t that was expected after Coles Corner brought him to attention, pretentious review d*ckwads always do that. You have to take these things with a pinch of salt. These same reviewers that harp on about every new NME championed clone band. Irritating
