    Alright Lads,
Just wondering what would be the norm to be charged for a service to a 00 mark IV Golf. The Filters were changed, as was the oil and front break pads were done too.

Depends where you bring the car for a service.

A franchised dealer will charge alot more than an independant mechanic, can also depend what part of the country your in. Dublin garages tend to charge more than other parts of the country. Also VW servicing can be more expensive than other similar makes.

From a main dealer I would say for an average service with nothing out of the ordinary done, your probably talking around €500. A good independant mechanic might charge around €250 to €300.

Again these would be estimated ball park figures and are not written in stone. Best thing to do is ring a few places for exact prices.
