M4 Magazine not clicking into place.

Got one of my Dboy's M4's today (And a KJW M9 and a KJW P226)

The Handguard is a bit rattly and for some reason the flash eliminator
is gloss black unlike the rest of the finish dunno why. In the front sling
swivel bag there is a spare piece have not got a clue what its for but looks
like it goes over the barrel in someway.

Anyway. Having trouble with the Magazine. When I insert it, it
does not lock in place and keeps falling out. I have to keep
wiggling it about, tapping it and fiddling with the magazine catch
in order to hear the right sounding click where I know its locked.

Anyone know the best way to fix this ?

Pic of extra part of the M4 I dont know what its fuction is
or where its supposed to go but am guessing the front of the barrel
someplace???? Anyone care to enlighten me?
    Maybe its a swivel option?

    its for the sling mate

best way to fix that is sideways just beneath your iron sight at the front. have a look at my M4 on the eirsoft m4 thread mate. make sure the hook is to the left side of the aeg, if youre right handed, otherwise youll have your strap going across the top of the barrel.

you should have gotten a little rectangluar shaped hook with that - like the one thats fixed to the butt of the m4, only loose, and with a wee pin that slots in place.

as for mags - im buying new ones as ive the same issue.

In the absence of kdouglas, I have to suggest....

"Have to tried putting some silicone oil on it?" :D

Sorry, but it's all I can think of as I dont have any experience with the DBoy m4's.

i had the issue with my stock mags at HRTA and john i think it was, very kindly let me borrow a couple of his mid cap mags, and the m4 worked perfectly well. The problem seems to be in the stock mags mate... they seem to be too narrow - i may try widening them slightly...somehow... i need to have a think on how to make the catch click more effectively -

    OR

    just buy better mags.

Ahhhh I get it now. Never thought of it from a sideways perspective.
Maybe the mag problem is just cos the AEG is new.

Bloody pins are difficult to get in...must look for my leathermans.
