Just wondering has anybody ever holidayed in tennessee and if so any sugestions as to what to do there.

I heading to the US for a month in January and one of my stops is tennessee. Im going to fly into memphis to go to graceland, Im then renting a Car and going to drive around tennessee ending up in Nashville for the Grand ol opera.

I also want to spend the night in a few town's along the way get a real feeling for true (rural) America

Anybody got any sugestions of places to visit

    Thanks

    Omega

What are you into doing? Besides Graceland there isn't a huge lot to do in Memphis. It's a smallish town with plenty of museums though. You can get a riverbot ride on the Mississippi if intesrsted (lasts about an hour.
Beale street is where toa catch all the night-life, groups/music.

Nashville is a nice town and I was galad to have spent 3 days there and only 1 in Memphis. The downtown buildings look how southern buildings shoulda and of course there's the music, everywhere !
The Country Music Hall of Fame is worth the visit ( even if you don't like the music).
The Music Vally is out of town (10 minues?) built for tourists with places to eat, drink, listen to country and has a coupld of factories where you can see guitars and banjos being made.
