A few hadns from mermaid tournament

I played the mermaid tournament last wednesday - my first time playing against a lot of board members, and it sure was an experience!!!!!:)

Some hands here that came up:

1. Early on, third blind level

Highest stack overall had 7800; I had 6750.

Villain had 2800, and seemed to be tilting a bit. He made it 450pf, I made it 1450 (A,Ko), expecting either an AI or fold. He calls.

Flop comes
8,Q,2 - rainbow.

He shoves. I expected this tbh, even with atc.

Anyway, I call, lose and am back to just above average chip stack. (rush of blood to the head maybe?!)


2. I had 5300, jsut above average. Had been blinded away for last 15mins, nought apart from a few steals.
Villain had 10.5k

Blinds 100/200, 25ante

He makes it 600.

I make it 1400 with Qs (bad move I know, should have made it at least 2500 in hindsight; had it typed before his raise n just pressed raise).

Flop – K,J,8 all clubs. I've no clubs.

I check, he puts 2k in and I fold.


3. I'm BB.

Blinds 200/400, ante 50

Folded around to late position, who shoves for 3875.

I have 4750, with J,10s.

Easy fold?


4. 16 left, average stack approx.10k

I was dealer with 7,7 (5k chips).

Blinds were 3k/6k, plus ante

I made it 3k, expecting to get HU with SB (850ish chips). Everyone else had folded and BB folded. SB had Ks which held up.


Very next hand I had K,Qh.
Mid-position pushes for over 5k, folded around to me and I called.

Good/ bad??

1 is a tough spot, 2 and 3 you played well, 4 I can't tell what the actual chips were.
