    Folks,

I have a deep score in the windscreen of my car that has been caused by a faulty wiper blade. Is there any company that can repair this ? Autoglass didn't appear to be interested in anything or than a chip or small crack.

We are talking about an arc that is circa 7 inches long....

Suggestions are welcome as its 400 squid stg for a new windscreen.

    rgs. baud.

I've never heard of a score being repairable (such as those from bad wiper blades), but I could be wrong.

Do you have windscreen cover on your insurance? I'll bet if you do, Autoglass will be interested................

I do, and have given it serious consideration, note sure though if it would be classified as normal ware and tear rather than accidental damage....

I also only have the car a week, so I might need to wait a couple of months to avoid any potential arguments from them....

If the score is bad enough that it interferes with your field of vision then you need to have it replaced. In any case, Autoglass will deal directly with your insurance - no need for you to contact them. It might be worth asking Autoglass for their opinion.

    Thanks,

The "field of vision" term hits the nail on the head, nice term to use to strong arm the insurance crowd if I need to. It is the driver side wiper that has done the damage so I am not telling lies either !

    I owe ye a pint !

    Best regards, Baud.
