Whoa - came out of nowhere this one! Anyone know anything further? Can't find zilch anywhere... and this looks like it might dent the TM SIG 552 Fund™ soonish... ;)

I didn't keep my Galaxy '5K, but it sure wasn't over any quality or finish issues and it felt quite a nice AEG. I was wondering how come they'd only ever released the '5K and '5 PDW all that time. So that's what they must have been working on, evidently!

It'll be interesting to find out how this compares to the BE and Well ones (... and dare I say it - even to the TM one).

Shiva my good man, any stocking in sight?

I took the liberty of logging you out of RSOV ambros. you should never link to products on either RSOV or Eirsoft without logging out first, as the session data is stored in the URL (A disgraceful thing to do) this means anyone clicking the link can access all your personal data, such as name, address and telephone number.

As replied by pm an instant ago - I confirm that these are not my details at all!!!

    So what could have happened?

How come, by clicking on the image on RSOV catalog page, then just copy/pasting the AEG page address, I somehow managed to linky to the account of someone (supposedly) securely logged-in? (esp. when I ain't exactly L33T with Haxx0r stuff either!)

And I confirm it can't be a work colleague either (double-)

The session ID is contained in the URL, so someone may have clicked the link, logged out (if you where logged in in the first place), logged in again and as a result I could see there details via the link.

Those products look like the default test database that comes with Oscommerce when you first install it.
He was probably upgrading or doing some maintenance.

m14 EBR = an abomination. I really don't understand why so many end up drooling all over it.

Give me the original any day!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

so you don't like armalites or ebrs then :D

gotta love it looks i don't know really, evil i guess

I wouldn't be overly fond of armalites. I like some of them. Their popularity does turn me off somewhat. Especially people buying multiples! :D

The EBR is on a different level though. Abomination being a very harsh word. My dislike probably stems from how much I like the original.

Its similar to someone releasing a remake 'updated version' of a classic film. That rarely works either.

Oh, how that echoes in here! :(:D

    Especially when -
    * at a very CQB-friendly 215 FPS, Paul *might* let us use them on full auto inside
    * from reviews all over the shop, the TM SIG appears to average @ 260-270 (as std), so what... 50 FPS difference (that can be made up with tighter barrel + upgrades as & when)
    * I've already got a 320 FPS assault AEG

Ah b*ll*cks. Oh well, I haven't completed the TM SIG fund yet... but I've already completed the Galaxy MP7 one!!! :D:D

I think Scope had a Well MP7. I dont think he has had much luck with it. When I was buying my first AEG I knew I wanted an MP5 varient and was looking at the Well version. Was advised against it due to quality issues with Wellfire so got the Galaxy instead. Got to say I am glad I did.

Yep it exists real steel. Just youtube it.

The thing is horrific looking though. I think my main problem with it is the stock. It looks it's been shaved off or something.

ambro, yep i think i am gonna go for the mp7 as well and i was thinking exactly the same...cqb it would be ideal....if i can just delay until friday, so i can see the m249....i just have to do cold turkey till then...

as for the ebr....me, me , me me me me me.....that is definitely going on my list...and i think my poor TM seals sig, has dropped down the list 2 places this week alone.....

my gawd, ..we really need to educate some people on this board with some taste, ebr as an abomination, ebr as inbred, where is your sense of style, where is your taste, where is your derring do...get off that ak communist hump and cmon down for the big win....:D:D

    acu and ebr....mmmmhhhhhh

ambro, yep i think i am gonna go for the mp7 as well and i was thinking exactly the same...cqb it would be ideal....

Well, I've confirmed to Shiva I want one of his as & when they turn up. So that's that - I'm considering it ordered :D
as for the ebr....me, me , me me me me me.....that is definitely going on my list...and i think my poor TM seals sig, has dropped down the list 2 places this week alone.....

I thought I liked the EBR - 'til I kept reading everywhere how front-heavy it is, and thought some more about it. Think I'm gonna pass (on EBR and '249), so the TM Seals is only down 1 place here ;)

'Wouldn't like support role, I generally prefer recon/assault - so that means small, light and well-balanced AEG (installed the ACE stock last night on the M4 - oooh baaaybay!/totally different feel: ACE is heavier than the 6-position std stock, so it balances much better now - between that and the TM Pro silencer in place of steel barrel extender + flash-hider, center of gravity is just about in middle of receiver now!)
    bullets wrote:

To me, looks more like a 'chopped' M14 (receiver with upper back corner cut off) crossed with a SPAS 12 (front of receiver), a M249 (front barrel/flash-hider) and one of them snazzy M4 SOPMOD stocks... It's brutish, that's probably why I like it :D

ambro...we want piccies of that...i meant to say the silencer you had saturday looked the business..how did you get the original flash hider off??

where did you get the ace stock from (if i am thinking the right one..is that the metal /foam one?)...i was looking for the g&g sopmod one but fecken thing is never in stock......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,986 ✭✭✭ambro25

    Comin'up tonite.
i meant to say the silencer you had saturday looked the business..how did you get the original flash hider off??

It screws off, as does the barrel extension (both 14 CCW)

Internal barrel extends into the silencer, to about an inch from the busines end.
where did you get the ace stock from (if i am thinking the right one..is that the metal /foam one?)

Gunner, yeah it is the metal/foam one - went for the short version (252 mm).
Had to file down the stock aperture at receiver end, though, tolerances were kinda tight - about 1 to 2mm too tight in places (... and Christ knows how I'll get the b*gger off as & when I need/want to  )

holy crap dude...that is one fine piece of kit there..i am seriously thinking of getting a a&k 933 and doing a bhd gary gordon sniper piece on it...

seriously excellent modification there ambro...way way impressed...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,986 ✭✭✭ambro25

    Why, thx m8. :)

I wanted to shorten the M4 nearly as soon as I got it. That barrel extension was just unsightly, once I got the thing in the flesh... erm, metal.

If you remember from my review thread, I was actualy a bit sorry I'd ordered it even before I got it, as the full-metal CQB/R came out 2 days after (not the 'silenced' one, the 'shortened' one - which is what I *really* wanted).

But I soon learned that the 'silenced' CQB/R has the same 330-odd mm inner barrel as the M4A1, whereas the 'shortened' CQB/R has a shorter inner barrel - so the M4 has a slight accuracy advantage, which I was actually glad about.

So off I went with calipers and my trusty browser, to try & find a way to shorten the front end without chopping (never a good idea) or replacing the inner barrel for a shorter one: on this M4A1, the inner barrel protrudes by about 75mm once you take off the flashhider and the outer barrel extension - and taking the 14mm thread into account, you need at least 90mm to cover all of the inner barrel.

Turned out this TM silencer is the best option, as it leaves about an inch-ish (22mm) between inner barrel firing end and silencer firing end ([evil]always a good idea to let people think the inner barrel's shorter than it looks [/evil] :D ).

Beware, the ACM-made ACE stock isn't steel though - prob aluminium. But yeah, I'm a bit glad of the end result :D

Only stuff left, I think and if I can be bothered, is a couple of RIS rails on the handguard, and CQB/R rear iron sights (both DBoys, from RSOV).

well funny you should say that because i was thinking of this, with my mp7 order

    http://www.gunnerairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=270

i was going to put this on the dboys, or get the m933...one or the other..

whats mags are they ambro...they really look the business with the markings on them and add to the whole m4 you have..??

got the knights trades as well.. i think the dboys ris comes in 2 halves, am not too sure how that works.

Mags are King Arms midcaps (as sold by eHobby, box of 5).

Not too bothered about RIS/RAS front-end, atm: given that laser's a big no-no here, and that the M4 will be redundant for CQB once I get the MP7 (so no need to mount taclight on the M4), I can't readily think of what else to add, that would require extra rail space.

I s'pose what I need in priority is a speedloader (that one never turned up, Robbie :() and a M4 mag clamp (was fumbling/dropping my midcaps in mud like a grade-A n00b last Saturday :o)

i might get some of those ka mags.....i did see somewhere a small rail adaptor for the bottom of your front grip...i think it bolts into each of the vent holes on the bottom. that would give you one rail for a grip (i find that really useful on mine, much steadier), and the inevitable torch...actually i think you could put a rail on the top as well if you wished but i suspect you dont.
