A quick question guys: When installing the latest update, do I have to install them all in order?

In other words, I got a PS3 last week and I went and installed version 1.9. Did I do right?

    Thanks.

Well i had the chance to get one cheap through a friend. No vat + a little discount so i ended up paying 110. I think they're around 170 from komplett.

Very simple to do, took 5 minutes and it doesn't invalidate the warranty.

Cool. Thanks. So in other words, the latest update also contains all the previous updates?

Another question I have. How can I get my PS3 to play videos and show photos saved on my portable hard drive? When I connect it, it has no problem recognising it, and in fact all my music can be played. However photos and some videos won't show up. Does it play .avi files? Help!!!

i haven't done it but photos need to be in a folder in the root directory called "/photo/" for the ps3 to recognise them, and then videos need to be in a folder called "/video/", however they must be in the correct format (there are several converters out there, consult your local google)...

Unfortunately it doesn't play AVI, just Mpeg/MP4.

Damn. Well feck that. Although I'm sure they'll have a patch out for that in the future.

@Project Mayhem: I have already created the necessary folders on the root of my usb device and still not having any luck.
