Anyone into scanning slides? I've been half meaning to buy one for a few years now and this model seems to offer a good price/quailty mix.

    Has anyone ever used one?

When I was shopping around for film/slide scanners a year ago I briefly considered this, but I've seen some appalling reviews for it. General consensus is that if you're going for an affordable dedicated 35mm film/slide scanner then the nikon coolscan V is the only option available at the moment, or scour Ebay for 2nd hand Minolta scanners, specifically the Minolta Dimage Scan Elite , either the 5400 or the 5400 II models. The 5400 is actually meant to be the better scanner.
