Sky+ Remote Record

    Hi,

    maybe paranoid but I have used Sky's remote record facility twice over the web and next time I got home to use Sky+ the machine has been broken. The error is "Sky+ playback and recording are unavailable".

    Sky's telephone support solution is reset (format the drive) so lost everything on it twice now - very annoying, to say the least. I have a Sky technician coming on Monday but just wondering if this has happened to anyone else - maybe ignore the remote record suggestion, probably just coincidence.

    ahhh, one more thing. It's a brand new box where Sky Anytime only got installed after the first reset. But then after the second reset, Sky Anytime disappeared again.

    Used it both over the web and via the mobile client on my mobile phone. No problems but i probably have an older box as it does not support anytime.

    i've used remote record via the web a couple times without problem - mine's a new box (installed this week) but anytime hasn't appeared yet.

    when I rang about the Anytime, they told me that it would take a few days before it would appear. I waited a couple of weeks before ringing them and that was when the first reset happened. Anytime appeared immediately after the reset. Just in case you have the same issue as mine I wouldn't get too attached to the contents of your Sky+. And maybe ask for a reset before recording stuff - that should get Anytime into your box.

    You never know, it is probably that my box is knackered.
