Ok so im aware of the foundation in engineering program. I know its for people who didnt obtain a C3 in maths. Over in the leaving cert forum somebody said they failed leaving cert maths and got the interview under this program. On the website it says for those that got a d3 or above only (honours maths)

Can anyone confirm do they do this for people who failed (got an E) in hounours maths ???? has anybody got into dcu with this interview even after they failed ???

not entirely sure off hand what the maths requirement is for that course, but wouldn't you have to satisfy basic matriculation at least, which includes passing maths. So while again I can't say for certain, no I don't think that's likely.

i got an a2 in pass and they said i can have an interview no bother they gave me the impression that as long as you convince them you have some head for numbers and are a hard worker you will be accepted

did you have to apply for anything or did they just send you a letter with your cao ???

i sent them an email myself in may and they jsut said put any dcu course on my cao so they get all my info and then they will be in touch after the cao and if they are not to ring/email them again before the 31st aug to arrange an interview (im in the cao but didnt do my leaving this year)

im only doing it if i dont get my cao choice though

edit; the email i sent them wasnt actually about the open opps course it was about getting into the regular degree i wanted straight away with the other "qualifications" i have so they then directed me to the open opps

As far as I know you HAVE to get a D3 or more, but you should try get the interview. And if you do get in really work at the maths because it is really tough. And there is nothing worse then repeating
