Pickup magnets

I want to replace the magnets in my current strat-style pickups but I don't know where to get them. I've googled it and didn't get any results. Also I need to get some copper wire to rewind the pickups but I don't know where to get that either. I live in Tallaght so I'm looking for a shop/ supplier in the Dublin area.
Any help would be great. =]

Have you got a pickup winding machine too? Otherwise you're gonna be a long time doing it. There are places that do rewinds (don't know the name tbh).

But if you're getting new magnets and new copper wiring then the only original parts are going to be the pole pieces and the covers. Thats kind of pointless, just buy new pickups.

I want to make it into a humbucker, and I think that the magnet is just a bit week. I don't want to go and buy a pickup, because this is something I wanted to do myself. The only hard part is going to be the winding as I don't have a winding machine.

What you could do is to wire up a "dummy" coil in series with the single coil. Hide it underneath the pickguard. Its a very old trick and it works great.

Voila! you have a humbucking pickup and you don't even need to rip your old pickup apart. You could try make up a small pickup yourself with the magnets and wire to use for this. It wouldn't have to be very pretty looking because it would be hidden.

I've heard of people making up DIY pickup winding machines using drills (be careful though). just do a google search for diy pickups and pickup winding machines. The beauty of the dummy coil is that you could wire it up with a switch so you can go back to a regular single coil in a instant!!!

    :)

    Thanks. :D

..I already have an idea for my humbucker. I'm gonna do 2 coils side by side (1 for every 3 pole pieces). And I'm going to add a switch which will vary the wiring from series to parallel.
