    Meh.
It was insensitive and was very unprofessional, but so was the DUP guy calling the SDLP guy fat.

(Btw, walshb - please add a comment to your post; posting a link without comment is against forum rules etc.)

Disgusting carry on - especially the "stumpy" comment as that was really offensive IMO. It shows to me just how much growing up Northern Ireland politicians and wider society has yet to do.

    Will do next time.....

But what was this man expecting? He has the audacity to label someone fat.
What did he expect?, a pat on the back and a thank you...No No, right back at you mate

Northern Irish humour doesn't seem to get any gentler, does it?

Many years ago, so a contemporary tells me, John Taylor (Now Lord Kilclooney) was speaking at an event in Queen's University during which he was roundly heckled by assembled masses of Fenians.

Taylor, it should be remembered, had been the target of an assassination attempt by the Official IRA during which he was shot in the head several times and still has several bullet wounds in his cheek and neck. (All shots missed his brain by a wide margin, according to local medical experts but that just reinforces my point).

Anyway, at the Queens' event he paused for a second to take a drink of water. "Watch it doesn't flow out the hole in your neck!" shouted one sensitive soul from the audience.

    Obviously a local councillor now.
