    Awwww crap :(

That's been a terrible idea since Una first mooted it years ago. Maybe they'll just explode under the pressure of people on C&S day. Outwards would be good, inwards would just be too messy ;)

What? Are you all for real? The corridor there is freezing every single winter. And we all know how long winter is in Ireland!!

And a bundle will be saved on heating, go eco-power!

Are they supplemented by regular doors either side, a la the library and nursing buildings?

There were aready doors on either side of the sliding doors, they weren't used much

yep revolving doors are a great idea. the side doors they use for all the balls can be opened to relieve the pressure on busy days like clubs and socs.

Oddly enough, the building wasn't cold when it was built and when the doors worked properly. Everyone assumes it's cold because of the doors but it's only because they've been broken for most of the buildings life.

The side doors are emergency exits so they can probably be used for C&S day but not apart from that.

What about wheel chair access? coz that was an issue in the nurses building with the revolving doors there and the lip on the other doors.
Seems like a horrible idea to me

how long before they're broken by certain clubs/socs running competitions to fit as many ppl is as possible!!

revolving doors will make it warmer and stuff, and maybe feel more homely, and there'll be fewer leaves and posters blown away. the jury is still out though.

There's a seperate door for wheelchair access to the nurses building, so no issue there tbh.

I'm not sure about them either but I'll wait and see :)

At least they had them changed, shows they're trying to improve things.

Anyone know what the story is with the bar, heard it's closing?

I foresee problem for drama getting sets and what have you into the hub, i recall about half a dozen of them lugging a very tall piece of set into the hub, nearly smashing a security camera in the process

I hope to jeebus these doors are shut down and they use the emergency doors to the sides instead on Clubs and Socs day. Otherwise, as John said, people will die...

(So long as they die *after* they hand over their 4 euro I'm happy, but we can't take that risk damnit :D )

Is it €4 to join each society?

it is indeed, and club. everyone joins a few in first year that they end up never going to and then spend the next four years coursing the unwanted e-mails. But be sure to join a couple, they're the best way to make friends. I think the official line is to join one or two you already have an interest in and to join one that you've never done before. but really just join something you intend to go to and get involved as much as you can
