Wireless Broadband, No Phoneline

    Hey All,

I have been using Ripwave for the past year and to be fair it's not that awful. However, I really want to go wireless and it would make a lot of sense as the two other people in the house who have laptops would be able to get online and we could split the bill. Does anyone know who we could do this with if we don't have a phoneline?

    elmyra,

Just stick a wireless router on the back of the ripwave. Choose what level of wireless security you want. Sharing is simple. You could also setup internet sharing though your pc/laptop - cheaper - but not the best idea. Wireless router cost approx 40 Euros. Can buy from Dixons etc... or IBB can sell you Netgear - one off cost and reccommend how to set it up

Make sure it is an Ethernet WAN router and not an ADSL based WiFi router or only one person can connect. There will be 4 ordinary ethernet sockets as well as the separate WAN ethernet which connects to the Ripwave.

If you have a USB ripwave, get it swapped for ethernet model.
