Mortgage deeds

Hi just wondering what situation i've been left in after my partner has decided that he doesn't want to be with me anymore?
We were just finishing remortgageing the house that he and his previous partner had occupied previously to their breakup.
We have just signed the mortgage loan offer and the deeds papers are out soon for signing.

Where does this leave me now? Am i legally implied in this or expected to still pay mortgage payments without deeds?
The other party has already signed away her rights on the deeds and is free and easy and expecting a cheque.

also even if we weren't to break up i don't think i want to continue to be with him or buy a home with him as he is diplaying more and more signs of severe emotional immaturity that don't seem to be lessening with time, nor is the communication ability improving!:(
