Headed right for corpus christi....I have friends there, they live out on one of the spit bars. Not a good place to be when that comes ashore....hopefully it doesn't get time to intensify too much.

Downgraded to tropical depression. It formed too close to the coast.

However, Texas is going to get quite a drenching:
TOTAL RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS...WITH POSSIBLE ISOLATED MAXIMUM AMOUNTS OF 10 INCHES.

The coastal bend has had about 5 times it's usual average rainfall already this year....all reservoirs and rivers are full; a stark contrast to when I was there during the drought 7 yrs back.

Sheesh. Erin is the tropical depression that just keeps on giving.

Last advisory on Erin is that it's dissipated into a commoner garden Low pressure system over Texas, most downgraded tropical depressions often offload a lot of precipitation anyway.
