Sorry if posted elsewhere, from rte.ie
Ryanair has announced it will go head to head with Aer Lingus on three European routes and bring another million new passengers through Dublin airport.

The airline will add two new aircraft to its current Dublin-based fleet to accomodate the six new routes as well as an increase in the frequency of 12 existing routes.

The move could help Ryanair deliver 10 million passengers to and from Dublin next year which would account for more than 40% of the airport's total traffic.

The new routes will run from Dublin to Prague, Nice, Budapest, Basel and the Polish cities Katowice and Szczecin.

The announcement comes during a tense week between the two airlines after Ryanair officials publically opposed Aer Lingus' plan to relocate some routes from its secondary Heathrow route from Shannon to Belfast.

    Kerry to London flight delayed

Ryanair passengers hoping to fly from Kerry to London Stanstead were delayed for almost seven hours today.

The 8.15am scheduled flight was grounded all morning due to technical difficulties.

It eventually took off at 3.05pm, according to a Kerry airport spokesperson.

    Head to head indeed.

Just booked Ryanair flights to Nice, out Dec 7 back Dec 10. Ryanair price for two people, including checking in one item of baggage each way, €105. Aer Lingus, same dates, one bag, €261.

Personally, having been shafted by Aer Lingus on that route for so long, I'm glad to have the option to fly directly into Nice with another airline.
