Does anybody do this commute or know how long it would take in morning / evening. I reckon an hour in the morning if you were out of Skerries by 7 but could be anything up to 2 in the evening with the M50..

Ouch - maybe during August you'll get away with 7am, but come september and the schools are back and everyone else is back from hols it'll be a different story.

    Here's your blackspots

    1. getting onto the M50. (probably best to go via side of airport and get on at ballymum.) - 30min approx
    2. Blanch to westlink / lucan turnoff 30min
    3. Red Cow turnoff 15min
    4. Dundrum Turnoff 15 min
then you should be clear for Cabinteely

    Option 2 - Leave at 6.30 and you'll be there for 7.15.

I find it unbeliveable the difference in traffic between leaving Balbriggan at 6 - 6.30 trying to get to stillorgan / bray.

Last April i was working in Bray and left BB (balbriggan) at 6 and was having breakfast at 7 in Bray. One morning left at just after 7 and it was past 9 when i arrived.

Try get agreement on 7.30am start for a 4pm finish or 10am start for 6.30pm finish and you'll save hours of sitting in the carpark. -sorry M50

Good news is I expect it will be quite wonderful to travel from oct 2008 when upgrade is complete. -Others will dispute it, but I'll place a bet it will be a joy to travel on esp if going end to end and avoiding having to turn off at red cow / N4 / dundrum or blanch exits.

    OP - Leaving at 7 will mean 1h 15m to 1h 30m to Cabinteely.
I worked in Sandyford for a couple of years & leaving Skerries at 6:15 it still took me 45 minutes. Leaving at 6:30 - it would take me an hour.

All of that was without the roadworks on the M50.

You could always take the Port Tunnel and go out through Blackrock, you'd nearly save the €12 every day by not sitting in traffic (Joke - but if you could afford it, I'd do it!).
