    Hello all!

Im up in chaing mai and just wondering where's the best place to get gear for the best prices. Ive been offered kick pads, shin guards and gloves for about 1500bat each at some stall in the Night Bazaar, the pads are thaismai or twins, and the shorts are twins or thaismai. Ill be in Bangkok aswell but i can get the stuff home easily from chaing mai as one of the people im travelling with is going home in a few days.

Thanks in advance guys for the help!

    Hi There,

Usually the camp you train at can get gear for you if you training at one at a competitive price. It sometimes could be a local branded product but usually still ok. As for 1500baht for kick pads if for a pair and not a single pad is not a bad price but the shin pads and gloves seem a bit on the high side but the US dollar is bad which usually drives up prices there. If you find the Lanna camp in Chiang Muay used to be a descent English lad called Andy Thompson who was involved in the running of the camp who can get you any brand at a fair price. Hope this helps.

The feedback from lads in Bangkok is that prices for MT gear have gone up due to more demand. The shops at the stadiums seem to be quite pricey now in comparison to the old days. Shorts you can pay any thing from 200baht to 1000baht depending on quality on design.

    Hope this helps,
    Paul.

Cheers paul, Im going down again to yer woman at the market to get her price down again. The price was for a pair of thaismai ones. Im leaving chaing mai tomrrow and i probably should have done a bit more with regard to trainin to say the least!!! Anyway cheers again.

there's 2 places you can go John, but the twins shop in the Night Bizaar is prolly the best. On the same road as Mc donalds, put the burger joint on your right and walk down the road until you get to the Kalare food market.

Go in the first door you come to and the twins shop is about three shgops up on your left. She does all the Genuine twins gear. She'll come down in price but she's a champion bargainer, be prepared for a lonh haul if you want a decent discount.
