I'm thinking of buying this sniper rifle http://www.speedytoys.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=213. It costs around €155 to buy and ship to ireland. The thing is i havent got any guns shipped to ireland before so i'm just wondering on the procedures for customs and such.Any info is greatly appreciated!

i'm just wondering on the procedures for customs and such.

    No procedures.

Just buy online and wait for it to arrive on the doormat, with customs charges or without.

If customs charges, and delivery by Anpost, the delivery guy will expect payment at time of delivery. Best to have exact change ready at hand.

If customs charges, and delivery by a courier, the courier company will issue a bill including the customs charges - the courier company may require payment in advance of delivery, or at time of delivery. Again, best to have exact change ready at hand.

If customs have an issue with your airsoft device at the time of inspection, they'll let you know - in which case it'd be great and considerate of you to return the favour and let us know about it, ind etail (as it's not happened to anyone in here yet, to the best of my knowledge).

Just the once I'm aware off, awhile before you started to post here Ambro.

Liamo had his sniper rifle held and they wrote to him asking for a copy of his firearms certificate. He replied witht he usual info about 1 joule, airsoft etc and it was released without any further issues afaik.

    3. ...
    4. Profit!

Doubt it. I got it within 3 days of sending the letter.

As I said before speedy toys don't ship internationally although it does say they do on the website. I tried to order a utg m324 sniper rifel off them but they cancled the order.

I would reccomed saving up and buying a vsr 10 g-spec. There really really nice guns and well worth the extra money. You can get a g-spec on uncompany.

I don't think anyone that's new to the sport needs to get a great gun since they won't know the difference. I don't know why it's not been said already but I was shocked by eirsofts great prices there as good as rsov and one of the ggbs I want is on there (colt) I'll be buying that after I get my thompson from China.

Crimson, can I reccomend you get an AEG first. You would proably enjoy the games more as you can really get into the core of the fight. With the sniper you cant move around as much because you cant cover fire ect... TM guns are good quality and they last long. There is a nice one for sale in the adverts. You should take a look.
