UTG is 26/20/4.5 over 600 hands
    UTG+1 is 49/6/.7 over 150 hands

Pot 110 on river, he has 107 behind. What to do?

    Stack sizes:

    UTG+1: $154
    CO: $400
    Button: $601.80
    SB: $647.60
    Van Dice: $418

Pre-flop: (6 players) Van Dice is BB with Ah Qc
UTG raises to $14, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, Van Dice calls.

    Flop: 5h 6c 8d ($44, 3 players)
Van Dice checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks.

    Turn: Ad ($44, 3 players)
Van Dice bets $33, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls.

    River: 9s ($110, 2 players)

Horrrible spot, a 7 aswell as alot of 2 pair combos are in his range. Normally i wouldnt recommend this but against someone this passive i like betting $30 and folding to the all in, i dont see this player coming over the top with AK here so if he does youll know your beat and i think its a cheaper option than check calling as youll just want a showdown now.

Your only ahead of 5 Ax hands and splitting with 1 but your behind to 7. If you check and he has any of the 7 Ax hands that beat you hes very likely to bet/push and it will cost more than 30 i would imagine. Hes also likely to call with any of the 5 Ax hands your ahead of here and some MP type hands but might fold to a stronger bet or all in so i definetely like the bet $30 and fold to a push and even though youll be getting 2/1 on the call if he pushes your never ahead enough IMO to call it.

if you check hes checking behind every hand that you beat and betting with anything your behind i would think

Yeah against a guy with his stats, I think that is the best move.

I would have def re-raised preflop there. I check fold now. Im not sure he will always call Ax on this river unless its 2 pair+

I think I just check and fold to a decent bet, maybe you will get looked up by AJ on the river but that's about it.

Ya that's what I did. I thought it was almost impossible that I would check/call and win a showdown, he was too passive to bet a weaker ace. Just wondering if I was losing any value by betting and hoping he has something like AJ/AT

So is this line a bad line to take seens everybody had a different line. i.e bet $30 into the $110 pot giving him 4.5/1 to call which is good odds for him to call with an Ax you beat or possibly even some MP hand and if he comes over the top we know its virtually impossible someone this passive is bluffing on this board, if we just check here and he has any Ace or MP were ahead of he just checks behind and we lose some value.

I dont mind check/fold (how much did he bet on the river) but im not mad about it either. I definetely dont like a push as i think theres very few hands that call the all in on that river that we beat and alot more hands that will call that beat us. Or is my thinking flawed

i would bet 7 (seriously) and fold to a push

EDIT: checking there gives him all he needs to get you to fold a better hand
