DVD Playback Audio Problems

    Hey Guys,

    I'm using Media Player Classic & K-Lite Codec packs, Win XP, C2D 6600, 2GB RAM, 8800GTS ...

Went to watch a movie last night in MPC and the audio began crackling. Tried to watch in WMP but the video was FUBAR'd and tried finally in Nero Showtime and it was fine but wouldn't show in fullscreen...

Never had problems before ! Only changes that were made between the last DVD that worked fine and the new one was a re-install of WMP11 because it apparently clashes with firmware updates for a Creative Zen Micro.

Tried RE-install codecs, re-install WMP11, system restore but with no luck. Audio on everything else is fine, could it be my DVD drive ?

Best thing to do is dump k-litecodec pack ( uninstall it ) And just install VLC player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ .

Thats strange. Defragment your hard drive(s) first. As it sounds like driver corruption. Also is the soundcard onboard, or a add on card like a soundblaster audigy, or a X-fi ?

It's an onboard jobby, have tried everything at this stage including difference permutations and combinations of different codec packs !

It all started with this ****ing creative MP3 player !

If this makes any sense ...

When opening the disc in VLC player, you start the movie straight away or start at the menu. When I start from the very start of the movie the sound problem doesnt show, but when from the menu the sound is there straight away, same with scene select etc

Thats a work around to the problem, I need a fix for it ...
