Which keyboard best for mac laptop?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a keyboard (and mouse) to use with my current PowerBook G4 OSX 10.3.9 which I am then hoping will be functional with the 15" Macbook Pro that I hope to upgrade to. I spend a lot of time at my laptop ( a large part of my working day) and will need something comfortable and reliable as I will be typing up my thesis. I've looked at the Apple site and I'm not sure whether to go wired or wireless. The best option seems to be the "Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop for Mac" however it has very mixed reviews. Can anybody enlighten me further.

    Thanks.

Im trying, really trying to be objective here.. but there is no way that I can recommend to you to go for a Microsh1t keyboard. I just can't do it ;)

Personally, I am a fan of the Apple keyboards, each to their own. I have a lovely Logitech wireless at home but I never use it, always go back to the Apple one.

I can't comment too much on apple keyboards as I just use my MacBook without a seperate keyboard, however I do use a lovely Logitech DeNova Media Desktop on my main machine at home.

To be perfectly honest your probably just better going with a normal apple keyboard/mouse compo either wired or wireless, I personally wouldn't go crazy on spending money on Microsoft mac stuff.

I'm sure oether people will have further comments :)

Actually yeah, I should have stated that, I was talking about a keyboard with an iMac. I always use my MBP keyboard, never a separate unit with the laptop.

Get the new Apple keyboard. You'll find it much easier and more comfortable to type with (and possibly faster)

Thanks, the reason I am going for the separate keyboard is that I currently have a 12" powerbook and it is doing nothing for my neck, back etc hunching over it trying to type every day. Even if I get the 15" Macbook pro I still intend on buying a stand for it so that I can work with it more comfortably. The reviews for the logitech keyboards were worse than for the microsoft. As regards price there seems to be little in the difference between the microsoft and apple wireless ones and the new apple keyboards don't seem to have such a positive review. I want to get something as soon as I can but as it is something that will last I don't want to make the wrong decision.

i have an apple bluetooth kboard and original 1button mouse.

the keyboard lasts about 6months on a full charge of batteries(i use Nickel metal hydrate 2600 batteries, hi capacity ones for cameras) there is a switch to turn off the keyboard when not in use, i've never used it, my keyboard is always on.

the mouse's performace is about 6-8 weeks, usually leave that on aswell, but again i have hi capacity re-chargable batteries so im not too bothered. i do have another logitech 3btn wheel mouse which has become my no1 mouse, only downside is that it takes up a usb port.

personally i'd go wireless, when i get sell on my imac kboard & mouse in a few months ill be getting a macbook and will probably get another wireless kboard and mighty mouse.

i'd stay stock prepherials, keeps everything looking 'together'.
