He's capable of mixing it up but do you have a read?

If you push, there's 150 in the middle and you're raising 135. That means he has to call you with a lot of hands that you don't like - Medium aces, low pp's.

If you flat call you're hoping for a K or Q which you may go broke on.

This isn't a nice hand to be in the SB with.

With 35 invested and a slow structure I'd lean towards a pass but occasionally call.

Most importantly, has a sidegame started yet or will you have to sit and watch if you go out?

Don't repop it to 35, and don't use the word repop for a near min raise either. When you didn't raise initially he can't figure you for a strong hand with 2 limpers in the pot as well. Either raise when it comes to you intially in the SB or just complete and call his raise.

In fairness, bops, we've all been around long enough (the OP included, I think) to know that valor gives short to-the-point replies. I'd say you're the only one who's gone mentally insane over the reply.

Did you pull this suspicion out of a hat? You give exactly 0 information to back up your inclination. well whatever, raising only 4x there into 3 limpers isn't a great bluff unless there is a severe amount of weak limp/folding going on. This situation wont occur very often at a table full of good players which is de case as you have just stated. So even given this new information my point still stands. If he's not a bad player making a bad bluff then mutually exclusively he must be a good player making a value raise. As a second point, as valor attempted to explain, even if the BB is bluffing enough of the time to make rebluffing a good play, a bigger reraise then to only 35 musters more folding equity and denys de BB favourable pot odds more effectively.

well, it was fun to get some back. I've gone from the lead in the league to a poor 3rd position(in just 2 weeks) with like 2/3 weeks left. Let's hope he gets fishified again next week and we can shake hands again.

I dunno Lenny, I haven't seen the op post much - actually it wasn't just his reply, there was a string of muppet replies - i just chose to target Valors because i'm tired of his one line bullsh*t replies that are correct, but meaningless. Indeed, there are now three real weeks left with two Mondays to play, since there is no game during the European Amateur Championships. You actually dropped another spot last Monday, but you're only 7 points behind the leader and have a much better tie-breaker situation. So you can still win it.
